PREPARATION

Prelude
Brief Order for Confession and Forgiveness
L: As we prepare to worship God, let us confess our sin and our trust in God’s forgiveness.

Kyrie Eleison vs 1 & Chorus

L: In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit
A: Amen
L: Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you and worthily magnify your holy name, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
A: Amen
L: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Silence for reflection and self-examination.
Kyrie Eleison vs 2

Most merciful God,
A: we confess that we are captive to sin and cannot free ourselves. We have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. For the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name. Amen
L: Almighty God, in his mercy, has given his Son to die for us and, for his sake, forgives us all our sins. As a called and ordained minister of the Church of Christ, and by his authority, I therefore declare to you the entire forgiveness of all your sins, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
A: Amen

Kyrie Eleison Chorus

GATHERING

Songs: How Great
L: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
A: And also with you.
Announcements & Introduction to the Day
Prayer of the Day:
L: Let us pray,
A: Beloved God, from you come all things that are good. Lead us by the inspiration of your Spirit to know those things that are right, and by your merciful guidance, help us to do them, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen

WORD

Bible Readings: Psalm 80:7-15
7 Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine upon us, and we shall be saved.
8 You have brought a vine out of Egypt; you cast out the nations and planted it.
9 You cleared the ground for it; it took root and filled the land.
10 The mountains were covered by its shadow and the towering cedar trees by its boughs.
11 You stretched out its tendrils to the sea and its branches to the river.
12 Why have you broken down its wall, so that all who pass by pluck off its grapes?
13 The wild boar of the forest has ravaged it, and the beasts of the field have grazed upon it.
14 Turn now, O God of hosts, look down from heaven;
15 behold and tend this vine; preserve what your right hand has planted.

Prayers:
L: Praying in this place and in our own homes yet united in the Spirit, let us together intercede for all the needs
of the world.
L: Lord, thank you for the abundant harvest of the earth. Bless and care for those whose hands bring the fruits of the earth to the tables of all who hunger. May we be inspired by your servants who cared deeply for your creation, especially Francis of Assisi, whom we commemorate today. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
L: We pray for all managers and business owners in our community and for all who seek employment. Give hope and a future to those who lack meaningful work, those who have been marginalized or abused in the workplace, and those who desire new opportunities.
Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
L: We pray for those who are sick or injured. We pray for an end to the COVID-19 pandemic, and for recovery for all those who have been infected. We pray for those among us who are sick and hurting, especially for Skip Meisner, Barb Curry, Doug Walker, Jim Mandicino, and Jim Sorvaag’s sister, Karen, as they face the ordeals of cancer. We also pray for Ken Cain and John Berg as they continue to face health issues. We lift up Yvonne Church, recovering from hip surgery, Scott Raasch and Kelsey Olorundami’s father, Kevin Kann, recovering from heart surgery.
Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
L: Lord, we pray for the nations of the world. We pray especially for places of conflict and war. We pray for world leaders, that they would work for peace and jus-tice. We pray for this United States of America. God, give us wisdom and courage as we face a national election. Guide us to elect leaders who govern with integrity and compassion for the good of all.
Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
L: All these things and whatever else you see that we need, we entrust to your mercy; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

MEAL

Great Thanksgiving
L: The Lord be with you. A: And also with you.
L: Lift up your hearts. A: We lift them to the Lord.
L: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
A: It is right to give him thanks and praise.
L: It is indeed right, our duty and our joy, that we should at all times and in all places give thanks and praise to you, almighty and merciful God, through our Savior Jesus Christ; who on this day overcame death and the grave, and by his glorious resurrection opened to us the way of everlasting life. And so, with all the choirs of angels, with the church on earth and the hosts of heaven, we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
A: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
L: In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave thanks; broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take and eat: this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.
Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me.
Lord’s Prayer
L: Come to the banquet, for all is now ready.

Table Blessing:
