Dollar Sunday offerings for our Neighborhood Christmas Dinner are collected the first Sunday of each month to help defray the cost of food and supplies for our dinner in December.
Hy-Vee Receipts – Remember to bring your Hy-Vee receipts for our local schools to use for items they need. There is a basket in the narthex to drop them off. The start date for collecting receipts this year was August 1, 2024, and will run through April 30, 2025.
Pop Tabs for Ronald McDonald House – Save at home and bring when services start up again.
Food Cart – Please remember to bring nonperishable food items for our Food Cart, which will be donated to Midtown Family Community Center.
WARMING SHELTER, located at 916 Nebraska Street, is a temporary emergency shelter during the winter months for those who are homeless. If you would like to donate to The Warming Shelter, please give directly to the Warming Shelter, P.O. Box 3556, Sioux City, IA 51102. For more information on how you can volunteer in other ways, please contact Joe Twidwell.
Serving at the Soup Kitchen – If you are interested in serving at the Soup Kitchen, watch for a sign-up sheet. Jim Sorvaag will be our coordinator for this volunteer opportunity and will schedule our group online. Their prep work shift is 4pm-6pm and utilizes 6 people. They require all volunteers to be at least 16 years old and wear closed-toe shoes.
** If you want to just volunteer on your own, you can Google search “Siouxland Soup Kitchen” and click on Volunteer and Help Together. You will be directed to a calendar to select the date and time you would like to serve.
