Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
I believe that the Holy Spirit is at work among us, inspiring us to follow the way of Jesus and to spread the Good News message of what Jesus has done. I see several signs of the Spirit blowing in the congregation.
We are planning to make beds for children who don’t have beds, through an organization called “Sleep in Heavenly Peace”. This is one way that the Spirit is calling us to love our neighbor, as Jesus taught us.
We are repairing the brick and masonry and windows on the outside of our building. These repairs are part of the regular maintenance of the building, and the Spirit has inspired us to be good stewards of our money so that we can be good stewards of our building.
We also have been gathering on Wednesday evenings during this season of Lent, and the Spirit has gathered many people on these Wednesday evenings. The greatest work of the Spirit is to assemble God’s people in Christ, and we see this happening on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
I thank God that we are “Blown by the Spirit…”, and I pray that we recognize the work of the Spirit to call, gather, enlighten, and sanctify us.
Your Servant in Christ,
Pastor Scott C. Egbers
