How to Use this Service: This order for worship is a way in which the congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church can continue to worship, despite being unable to gather together. All members are encouraged to gather in their own household at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning and turn to God, using this order. In this way, we will have some level of unity, even though we are physically apart. The service can be led by an individual, or parts can be divided among those present. The message from Pastor Scott can be read and may also include a time for discussion. The suggested prayers may be used, but people are encouraged to include their own prayers as the Spirit guides them. If there are any questions, feel free to call Pastor Scott. He would be glad to give guidance and assistance. Also, this service will be live streamed on Facebook at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday so you will be able to follow along with the service below.

Message

Hymn: #779 – Amazing Grace

Prayers:
L: Turning our hearts to God who is gracious and merciful, we pray for the church, the world, and all who are in need:

  • Lord, open our eyes to see you at work in the world. Give us sight to see you protecting us, providing for us, and delivering us from evil.
  • Lord, protect us from disease and sickness and death. We see danger all around us, show us your saving work. We see pain and loss, show us comfort and renewal.
  • God, our peace and our strength, we pray for our nation and the world as we face new uncertainties around coronavirus. Protect the most vulnerable among us, especially all who are currently sick or in isolation. Grant wisdom, patience, and clarity to health care workers, especially as their work caring for others puts them at great risk. Guide us as we consider how best to prepare and respond in our families, congregations, workplaces, and communities. Give us courage to face these days not with fear but with compassion, concern, and acts of service, trusting that you abide with us always; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

A: Amen.

Lord’s Prayer

Hymn: #768 – Lead Me, Guide Me

Blessing:
L: Almighty God, Father, + Son, and Holy Spirit bless you now
